![]() ![]() EXTENDED CARE INSURANCE For the Individual: For the Business: The average cost for a nursing home (private room) runs around $75,000 a year; for Assisted Living the cost is between $1500 to $4300 a month, just for room and board, with additional charges for services. Home health aides charge about $24.00 a hour. Medicaid does not pay for care received at home. It only pays for nursing homes after you have depleted your assets down to a minimal amount. If we should sustain a serious injury that would require extended care, these policies will ease the emotional and financial burden. Premiums are based on your age and health at the time you purchase a policy. The longer you wait, the higher the premium. You also take the risk of having your health decline with age, which could make it impossible to purchase such protection . My specialty is equine insurance. Even though I am licensed for Life/Health insurance, I do not sell Long Term Care insurance, but I do have two agents on my team, Norv and Dottie Henrichs, of Newman Long Term Care, (owner Deb Newman is nationally recognized as one of the leading experts). Norv and Dottie will assist you in your investigation of this insurance. We were fortunate to secure John Hancock as a carrier of Long Term Care insurance that will offer a 5% association discount if we have three applicants in the next 60 days. This will “lock” in their offer for one year. This discount also applies to members’ spouses, parents, grandparents, siblings, children, and even in-laws! You only need be a member of CSDEA at the time of the application, and the discount remains in effect for the life of the policy. Time is of the essence; call me at (763) 557-0709.
